This is, in many ways, the ultimate love song for someone that I was obsessed with at the time. Fortunately, she was a good sport and liked the song, but not me. lol!

This song was written after watching the film adaptation of Somerset Maughm's "Of Human Bondage," about a hapless chap who gets hooked up with the wrong lady. He survives and thrives, she does not. Satire is a powerful weapon against despair.

In the late spring of 1993, while trying to recover from my mother's passing, I wrote and produced this piece. It was recorded on a 4-track, as were most of the pieces on this website, with 16 sound sources, achieved by careful use of bouncing and adding to the mix. The lyrics were written to cheer myself up and to make fun of my friends recreational preferences, not mine.

Ecology anyone? I mean, really, isn't it time we all took responsibility for our home?

According to some experienced persons, this is my most successful "pop song." I wrote it in Santa Cruz in the mid-1980's. Can you hear my references? Karl Cordoza plays bass.

I do not advocate excess, and this piece expresses that conviction. It is not autobiographical. Thanks to Jimi Hendrix for the "broom" reference.
